Replace-It Support

Stuck on something? Most questions are answered below. If not, email us and we will get back to you.

How to use Replace-It

1. Add an item

Tap the + button at the bottom of the home screen. Take a photo, choose one from your library, or type the details by hand.

2. Confirm the date

If you used a photo, Replace-It reads the expiry date and suggests it. Tap to confirm, or pick a different one. You can edit the name, category, and notes too.

3. Save

Your item drops into the right bucket: This week, This month, Later, or Expired.

4. Get reminded

A local notification fires before each item expires. Set the lead time and time of day in Settings.

5. Mark, share, or remove

Swipe a row to mark used, share, or delete. Tap Select to bulk-act on multiple items at once.

6. Find anything

Use the search bar at the top, or tap a category chip to narrow the list.

Common questions

I am not getting notifications.

Open iOS Settings, find Replace-It, and check that Notifications are enabled. Then open the app, go to Settings, and confirm your lead time and time of day are set the way you want them.

The camera will not open.

Replace-It needs camera permission to scan dates. Open iOS Settings, find Replace-It, and turn on Camera. Photo Library access is separate, and only needed if you want to add an existing photo.

My items did not appear on my other device.

Replace-It syncs through your private iCloud. Make sure both devices are signed into the same Apple ID and that iCloud Drive is enabled in iOS Settings. Sync can take a minute on first run.

How do I restore my purchase?

Replace-It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. If you reinstall the app on the same Apple ID that bought it, the App Store will re-download it for free. There is nothing to restore inside the app.

Where is my data stored?

On your device. Photos and items are kept locally and optionally sync to your private iCloud. Replace-It has no servers and collects no analytics. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete everything?

Open Settings inside Replace-It and use the bulk delete option, or simply uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes the local copy. To remove the iCloud copy as well, sign into iCloud.com or your iCloud settings on Mac and delete the Replace-It records.
